Economically Speaking

In light of today's financial crisis, it is a good time to remember that the Lord expects that we will be good stewards of the monetary blessings that he has given us. In that spirit, I would like to bring a couple of places that one can go for purposes of investing money for retirement, emergencies, etc. One is Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University or FPU for short. Use the FPU link to check out the investment advise and to check out who locally has been certified by FPU as reliable, Christian investment advisors.

The other is a new one that will need to be checked out because it is relatively new. Their charter is:

" WELCOME to Moral Money

Moral Money is a site dedicated to expanding the awareness of Biblically Responsible Investing and helping people grow closer to Christ by illuminating the Biblical insights of investment stewardship. Biblically Responsible Investing is the act of building an investment portfolio consisting only of companies that do not participate in or promote lifestyles that are offensive to Christian values. These values include the manufacture or distribution of such products as tobacco, alcohol, abortion services, anti-marriage lifestyles, pornography, and products or media that mock the Christian lifestyle.

By providing free, up to date news, information, education, and professional tools and advice, we intend to make it possible for everyone to design and build an investment portfolio that is both honoring to God and financially desirable. "
They also certify investment advisors, but they also have tools where you can check outl your own investment portfolio as to who you are really invested in and whether or not they are engaged in activities that are counter to biblical teachings and truths. Check them out at Moral Money.
In today's world your retirement accounts allow for your input on who you are invested in making it much easier to be proactive in your retirement investments. It is now easier to maintain an investment portfolio that will not compromise your Christian values.
